The Love Lane shop has devoted four-footed clients, but family illness has forced the owner to sell the business.
A well-loved business on Love Lane in Mattituck is up for sale.
A message on Groom + Gear’s Facebook page announced the sale of the popular destination for four-footed friends and their owners.
“Alas, friends, GROOM ‘N GEAR is for sale. Family health issues have brought us to this, and we hope we can be adopted by a pet-loving owner/family,” the message states.

“The business, client list, inventory, fixtures, and great reputation are for sale for $35,000. The landlord will negotiate a new five-year lease. The shop is on amazing Love Lane in Mattituck, with both charm and steady foot traffic.
We have offers to take over the lease, but hope to keep the business intact. Love Lane needs a caring pet shop!
