The Grand Marshal of this year's Merry Merfolk parade, which takes place Saturday at 11 a.m., will be Paul Kreiling.

"Sailor, painter, designer, rigging specialist, volunteer, community leader and all around good guy, Paul Kreiling has committed much of the last eight years to improving East End Seaport Museum," organizers said. "Paul served as chair for four years and curator for eight years. During his time as curator, Paul re-imagined our exhibit spaces from jaded displays to vibrant storytelling exhibits of the East End’s historic maritime past.
