Plans To Improve Southold's Cell Phone Service To Be Discussed At Civic Meeting Saturday

Residents are invited to attend and weigh in on the cell service issue.

SOUTHOLD, NY — For years, certain areas in Southold Town have been plagued with cell phone service complaints.

On Saturday, at 10 a.m. the Southold Peconic Civic Association will host a meeting, held at the Southold Town Recreation Department, located 970 Peconic Lane in Peconic, to discuss the town's plans to improve cell service.

Discussion topics will include proposed changes to town code regarding cellular rules, facts about cell towers —including height and signal strength — and next steps (including information about a public hearing that is likely to occur next month.

Guest speakers include Heather Lanza, director of the Southold Town Planning Department, and Tanya Negron of Elite Telecom Partners.

"Come share your input for improving cell service in Southold," civic leaders said.
