Wife Mourns Man Who Died In East Marion Crash: 'He Was My Soul Mate'
"Once he knew you, he loved you. He would do anything for you." — Sarah-Mai Miller on her beloved husband Heath, lost too soon.

NORTH FORK, NY — A "stellar" man who died in an East Marion crash in February touched the lives of all who knew him with his heart and extraordinary spirit, his wife told Patch.
Sarah-Mai Miller said, with her words, she hoped to "paint a picture" of the rich life her husband Heath Miller, 47, of Greenport led — as well as the forever impact he leaves as his legacy.
"Heath and I have co-owned a design and branding agency since 2009, so we were partners in life and business," Miller said. "We spent almost every — waking and sleeping — minute together, which I suppose sounds odd, but we loved it."

The pair met at work, "so it was just natural for us," she said.
Miller said she and her husband met in Columbus, Ohio in 2005 and moved around quite a bit from there. "The south of France, Omaha, Chicago, and of course, New York City, the Hudson Valley, and Greenport," she said. "We loved finding apartments or homes with tons of character we could enhance, or building new homes from scratch to make them our own."

One project of the heart, The Saltbox in Greenport, was their ninth home together.
"Heath would handle the overall design of all our homes, and I would help with the details," she said. "It was like that with our agency as well — he focused on the high level / big picture, and I live in the details."
Remembering her love, Miller said: "We just fit together, and our strengths and weaknesses balanced perfectly. He was my soulmate and he will always be a part of me. He was an incredible friend and father to his son McKenzie and our dog Rufus."
He was a man who touched countless hearts, she said.
"Once he knew you, he loved you. He’d do anything for you. He made friends instantly, and as an introvert myself, it astounded me. His love for life and for his friends and family knew no bounds. Recounting his life, as I’ve had to do over the past week, has reminded me how absolutely stellar he was."
A celebration of life service will be held by Heath Miller's Pennsylvania family in York, on Sunday, March 5, at Wyndham Garden, located at 2000 Loucks Road, from noon to 4 p.m.
A "rager," hosted by his wife, will follow in New York City later this spring, she said.
The head-on crash took the lives of four people, Miller, his friend William Price, 55, of Wilton, CT, and Peter R. Smith, 80, and Patricia A. O'Neill, 66, both of Brooklyn, Southold Town police said.
