Wrong-Way Driver Charged With DWI In Southold: Police

SOUTHOLD, NY — A wrong-way driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Southold Friday night, police said.

According to Southold Town police, the incident took place at 8:36 p.m. on Main Bayview Road. Becker Agustin Perez, 18, was seen driving a 2008 Honda Civic in the opposite lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and Perez was found to be intoxicated, police said.

He was placed under arrest, charged with misdemeanor DWI, transported to Southold Town police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment, police said.
