2 Sold Alcohol Or Vape Products To Minors In East Northport: Police

Twenty-six businesses in the Town of Huntington area were checked, and two were found in violation, police say.

EAST NORTHPORT, NY — Two people were arrested in connection with selling vape or alcohol products to underage people during a compliance check in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk police said.

As part of the department’s "Operation Smoke Out," Second Precinct officers investigated the sale of vapes and alcohol to underaged persons at 26 businesses in the town, and two were found to violate the law — both in East Northport — police said.

Charles Spinella, 21, of Kings Park, an employee of Legacy Smoke Shop, at 39 Larkfield Road,
sold an alcoholic beverage to an underaged person and was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.

Harsh Gajjar, 21, of Plainview, an employee of Mister Tobacco 2 Smoke & Vape Shop, at 2031
East Jericho Turnpike, sold a vape product to an underaged person and was charged with
second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.

Spinella and Gajjar were both issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear at First
District Court in Central Islip on a later date.
