NORTHPORT, NY — Finn and Sandi, 6-month-old bonded siblings, are the Northport Cat Rescue Association’s Kittens of the Week.

"There are many parts of our rescue kitties’ journey that lead up to their happily ever after," said Lora Wild, a volunteer with the rescue.

After a kitten is rescued, they go to a foster home, and then to one of the rescue's habitats at Petco Huntington, Petco Commack or Doggie Dons in East Northport, Wild explained. There, they are taken care of by loving volunteers.

"Occasionally … we have a kitty or cat that just cannot adjust to our habitats," Wild said. "Who can blame them, after coming from a loving foster home? Finn is one of those kittens. He is very bonded to his sister Sandi, but once taken from his foster home and put into our habitats, he was so upset, that there was just no way we could in good conscience keep him there. We never want any of our kitties to be so stressed and confused that they are unable to calm down."

The rescue decided it was best to move them back to their foster home and then try "very hard" to promote them and get them adopted from there, Wild said.

"The first night they were back in their foster home, Finn slept like a baby curled up with his sister," she said. "Their brothers have already been adopted, and now Finn and Sandi wait for their happily ever after."

Sandi is beautiful, sweet and playful, Wild said. She loves affection, is calm and relaxed, and a real purring machine.

Finn is adorable and silly, according to Wild. He is very outgoing and loves to be snuggled.

"They are amazing kittens, and we are sure if you meet them in their foster home, you will fall in love," Wild said. "Please share their story to help them get adopted."

They are spayed and neutered, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.
