Former Elwood-John Glenn Shortstop on Fast Track to MLB

University of Rhode Island (sophomore) shortstop, Tim Caputo, will join the Bourne Braves, of the Cape Cod Baseball League, this summer. Caputo, a Greenlawn resident, graduated from Elwood-John H. Glenn High School in 2011. The Cape Cod League is the most prestigious, most competitive summer baseball league in the country. Current Major League Baseball superstars like Ryan Braun, Evan Longoria and Chase Utley, to name a few, spent their summers playing in the Cape Cod League, while current New York Yankees superstar, Kevin Youkilis evem played for the Bourne Braves, the same team Caputo is joining, this summer. Some key highlights of Caputo’s collegiate career thus far, include:

·      Three time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.

·      Selected to the A10 All-Rookie team.

·      Named Atlantic 10 best defensive infielder, in a recent, preseason ranking.
