'BellyCon' Coming to East Northport

Mystique's Desert Wind Dance Group presents BellyCon 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church Saturday featuring workshops throughout the day and a special showcase at night.

Mystique is a Long Island-based teacher and performer, with over a decade of experience in American Cabaret belly dance, Polynesian dance and Hula. Mystique founded the Desert Wind Dance Group in 2007 and the Orion S.G. Collective in 2010.

The Desert Wind Dance Group is a diverse ensemble of dancers with experience ranging from belly beginners to accomplished performers.

Classes will run on the following schedule:

Bellydancing for Beginners
Join Lilandra as she teaches you the basic moves of bellydancing. In this one hour class she will focus on technique and combinations. Cost $15. 11 a.m.

Basic Burlesque with Legs Malone
Looking to add some spice to your dancing? In this class, NYC burlesque performer and producer Legs Malone will focus on burlesque's basic moves. Please note this is a technique class. Cost - $25 before April 16 and $35 after. 12 p.m.

Drum Solo Workshop with Master Teacher Elisheva
Rhythms, moves and choreography…Shimmy until you drop! Isolations, rhythm and style are emphasized along with drills, drills, and more drills! Incorporate modern lines with contemporary Bellydance accents. Elisheva will teach a 3 minute drum solo choreography. Cost $30 before April 16 and $40 after. 2 p.m.

Bellydance Showcase 
An evening of spectacular bellydancing, featuring Elisheva, Mystique, Lilandra, the Desert Wind Dancers, The Orion S.G. Collective and many more. Cost $20 if payed before April 16 and $25 after. 7 p.m.
