Crime Report: Marijuana, Curfew Violations

Recent arrests as reported in the Northport Police district.

Here are some of the recent arrests made in Northport. None of the defendants has been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below.

A Northport resident, 17, was issued a field appearance ticket in connection with unlawful possession of marijuana in lieu of arrest on Laurel Avenue on Jan. 19.

A Fort Salonga teen, 17, was issued a field appearance ticket in connection with unlawful possession of marijuana in lieu of arrest on Laurel Avenue on Jan. 19.

Police responded to a report of trespassers on the docks on Fort Salonga Road on Jan. 20. Police charged a Greenlawn resident, 21, with second-degree criminal trespassing and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. A Kings Park resident, 31, was also charged with second-degree criminal trespassing.

Police responded to location after receiving a report about cars speeding and parked in the tennis courts on Maple Circle on Jan. 20. When police arrived, the questioned several individuals about parking in a no-parking zone. Two Northport residents, both 18, and an East Northport resident, 19, were issued field appearance tickets in connection with unlawful possession of marijuana.

A Huntington resident, 17, was issued an appearance ticket in lieu of arrest in connection with unlawful possession of marijuana after a lawful car stop on Fort Salonga Road on Jan. 24.

On Jan 24 on Beach Avenue, an East Northport resident, 29, was issued field appearance tickets in lieu of arrest in connection with unlawful possession of marijuana and a park curfew violation, and a Ridgewood resident, 25, was issued a field appearance ticket in lieu of arrest in connection with a park curfew violation.
