East Northport 2-Vehicle Crash Seriously Injures 1
The person was airlifted to a nearby hospital on Saturday, police say.
One person was airlifted for serious injuries after being involved in a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck in East Northport on Saturday afternoon.
According to fire officials, the collision between a car and the pickup truck occurred on Larkfield Road, in front of the CVS Shopping Center near Clay Pitts Road, at 3:08 p.m. One person in the car became trapped from the crash. East Northport firefighters used heavy rescue "Jaws of Life" tools to remove the person trapped in the car.
The person, who was seriously injured, was assisted by EMS crews and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital by Suffolk Police medevac helicopter.

The two occupants in the pickup truck declined medical assistance.
The East Northport Fire Department responded to the scene with three rescue engines, three ambulances and paramedic units. Units were dispatched and under the direction of Second Assistant Chief Tom Bourne, according to Steve Silverman, fire department public information officer.
