East Northport Middle School Hosts Walk-a-Thon For ALS Ride 4 Life
Students walked as many laps as possible to raise money for ALS research.

EAST NORTHPORT, NY — The East Northport Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society held its second annual Walk-A-Thon to support the ALS Ride 4 Life on May 9, the Northport-East Northport School District announced.
More than 130 NJHS students walked as many laps as they could in 30 minutes to raise money in
support of ALS research.
The girls softball team, boys baseball team, boys and girls lacrosse team, boys tennis team, boys and girls track team, the community service club, and a group of fifth grade students also came out to walk and show their support.

This year’s walk was especially meaningful for the NJHS advisers, Victoria Hehir and Kelly Lange,
and SHARE adviser, John Braun, as fellow science teacher Grecthen Manzo died of ALS on March 19.
