NORTHPORT, NY — The Northport Historical Society is set to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic children's tale, "The Little Prince," with two free events on March 26, the society announced.

The classic story tells the tale of the fleeting gift of childhood innocence and is the second most translated book after the Bible. Saint-Exupery, a celebrated WWII hero and engineer who held 10 patents, was lost at sea in 1944. Saint-Exupery wrote the story at the Bevin House in Asharoken in 1942.

The Northport Historical Society is at 215 Main St., Northport. Registration to the free events is required.

3 to 4 p.m.: Kid's Craft Series
