Northport Police Report: DWI Arrest; 'Rambling' Man

Incidents and arrests May 23-30.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Northport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction as all persons are presumed innocent until, and if, proven guilty in a court of law.

  • George Foxe, 37, of Northport was arrested and charged with unsafe lane change, DWI, and aggravated DWI on May 25 around 4:45 a.m. Foxe allegedly struck a parked car on Woodbine Avenue. When police arrived, they observed him in the drivers seat with the keys in the ignition. When police asked him to exit the vehicle his movements were reportedly uncoordinated, his eyes were glassy, his speech was slurred and he performed poorly on several field sobriety tests. He was arrested and transported to headquarters where he submitted to an intoxilyzer test and blew a .18 BAC.
  • Police responded to Woodbine Avenue regarding a report of a man "rambling" in front of an office around 5:30 p.m. May 23. The police officer spoke to the complainant who said the subject was rambling but was okay. A half hour later, police received another call that the same man was sitting in front of the business making staff nervous. Upon arrival, police observed the man blocking the entrance to the business. The officer spoke with the man and he agreed to move on.
  • Police responded to Fort Salonga Road on May 24 around 12:30 p.m. for a report of a man beating a woman in a black speeding Volvo. While canvassing the area, the officer was advised by the complainant over the phone that the incident was currently taking place in Huntington. Northport Police advised Suffolk County Police of the incident and the location.
  • Police responded to Goldenrod Avenue on May 27 around midnight for a report of a male knocking on the door trying to get into her house. Police located a male subject laying on the grass who was determined to be intoxicated. He was transported home and released to his mother.
  • Police responded to Scudder Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on May 27 for a report of male lying on the sidewalk. Upon arrival, police located the male subject who was determined to be intoxicated. The officer transported him to his home.
  • Police responded to a bank on Main Street on May 30 for the report of a man screaming. Upon arrival, the complainant said the man started screaming when she told him that he owed the bank money for over drafting his account. The man was advised to leave the bank and complied.
