Northport Police Report: DWI Arrest; Cars Trapped in Floodwaters

Incidents and arrests June 7-14.

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Northport Police between June 7 and 14. An arrest does not indicate a conviction as all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

  • Joshua Honigman, 22, of Plainview was arrested and charged with two counts of DWI, unreasonable speed, improper lane use, and unlawful possession of marijuana on June 9.
  • Stephen Flynn, 22, of Northport was arrested and charged with third degree assault on June 10.
  • Ian Vandeurs, 21, of Northport was arrested and charged with public intoxication and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle on June 12.
  • Cars were reported stuck in the rain storm on June 7 on Waterside Avenue, Main Street, and Fort Salonga Road.
  • A Michael Kors bag was stolen from a car on Woodbine Avenue on June 4.
  • Police responded to West Scudder Place for the report of a possible water main break. Upon arrival, undersigned observed water flowing from a storm drain, which was full of debris and water. 
  • A hit and run was reported on Jefferson Avenue on June 9. The offending car, a 2000 Ford Taurus, was later found abandoned on June Avenue and impounded by police.
  • Police responded to Scudder Avenue on June 12 for a report of a subject locked out of a car with a child within. Upon arrival, the officer was able to gain access and the child was reunited with his babysitter.
