Over 200 participated. Were you one of them? Upload your pictures of the big chill here.
It was all over in a matter of seconds; and you can't blame them.
Over 200 brave souls made an enthusiastic entrance into and a quick exit from the frigid waters of Northport Bay at the fourth annual New Year's Day Polar Bear Swim, sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 410 and the Northport Fire Department Smokeaters.
Though the skies were gray and the winds whipping at Steers Beach, participants enthusiastically pumped their arms, ran in place, and huddled together to pysch themselves out for the big chill.
