Polar Bear Swim at Steer's Beach Set for Jan. 1
All funds raised go to support the Northport Food Pantry, officials say.

Northport’s Junior Fire Department and Boy Scout Troop 410 from the United Methodist Church on Main Street are starting the New Year in the spirit of giving.
On Jan. 1, they are delving into the annual Polar Bear Swim at Steer’s Beach. All funds raised go to support the Northport Food Pantry, according to the Northport Fire Department.
Community members are encouraged to support the endeavors.

“You don’t have to swim, but please make a donation,” a message says on the Northport Fire Department Facebook page. “Come out and buy a really nice tee shirt both long and short sleeve. Help us help those in need.”
