Police Log: Person Overdoses, Raccoon Gets Stuck In Milk Crake

Here are recent incidents reported in the area, according to the Northport Police Department.

Tuesday, Nov. 14

At 7:33 p.m., police reported a suspicious small vehicle possibly loading a piece of stone into the trunk on Main Street. Officers searched the area but could not locate the vehicle. Police do not know if anything was actually taken.

At 8:33 a.m., police received a report of a raccoon stuck in a milk crate on Hilton Avenue. Officers located the raccoon and released the animal.

Thursday, Nov. 16

At 4:45 p.m., police received a report of a possible missing child on Maple Avenue. A relative said the child walked out the front door looking for his mother. The child was located a short time later prior to police arrival.

Friday, Nov. 17

At 1:48 p.m., police received a report of an unwanted delivery package on Jay Court. Officers determined the package was delivered to the wrong address.

At 3:47 p.m., police responded to a Scudder Place location for the report of possible drug activity but were unable to locate anything.

Sunday, Nov. 19

At 8:18 a.m., police received a hang-up 911 call from NorthSport Athletic Facility on Fort Salonga Road. The manager was interviewed and told police that all was secure and nobody called 911. Police determined the call was possibly related to the rain and wind conditions.

At 6:06 p.m., police responded to the report of an overdose on Bayview Avenue. Northport Rescue responded to the scene and transported the woman to Huntington Hospital.
