Police Log: Wrong-Way DWI Arrest, Car Collides With Deer

Excerpts from the Northport Police Department Log.

Wednesday, Dec. 6

At 2:34 p.m., police reported a graffiti offense in which someone wrote the words “No Trucks” on a commercial box truck while it was parked in the driveway on Cherry Street. The graffiti likely occurred during the night of Dec. 5. The graffiti has since been washed off.

At 8:35 p.m., police received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a deer on Terry Road. The deer, which was killed in the collision, was removed from the roadway.

Thursday, Dec. 7

At 10:55 p.m., Michael Tillman, 26, of East Northport, was arrested for aggravated DWI after police say he was pulled over for crossing the double yellow line, tailgating another vehicle, failing to signal and driving on the wrong side of the road on Laurel Avenue, police say.

Friday. Dec. 8

At 1:48 a.m., a 20-year-old Northport man was arrested for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after police say he drove a vehicle with a revoked license for a prior DWI. He was pulled over on Gilbert Street for tinted windows.

Sunday, Dec. 10

At 10:11 a.m., police received a report of a single-vehicle crash on Sea Cove Road. Police say the vehicle skid on the icy roadway and struck a driveway retaining wall. The car owner chose to settle the damages with the property owner.
