East Northport Man Creates Sandy Hook Memorial on Front Lawn
Mini Christmas trees represent 20 children slain in attack, says creator.
An East Northport man created a memorial on his front lawn to remember the 20 children killed in Friday's tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. Small white Christmas trees in the shape of a cross and flanked by two wooden gates represent the children going through the gates of heaven.
"The purpose of the Memorial was to help our family and neighbors process this unspeakable event in a constructive manor," said Dean Nichol, who created the memorial with his family on Saturday. "These Families are forever in our Prayers. Gods speed."
