Frank Petrone among highest paid supervisors on Long Island, says Newsday.

Town of Huntington Supervisor Frank Petrone is among the highest paid town supervisors on Long Island, according to a recent article from Newsday.

With an annual salary of $158,543 in 2011, he earned roughly 77 cents per resident, says the article, in comparison to Hempstead Supervisor Kate Murray, who made $150,742 or 20 cents per person. Then there's Shelter Island Supervisor James Dougherty, who is paid $30.53 per resident.

Petrone, a full time employee, received a $4,360 pay raise with the 2013 budget in September. The town board members, who work part-time, took a pay freeze.
