What Are You Doing for Screen-Free Week?

Too much time in front of a screen cuts in to play time.

It's national Screen-Free Week, when parents, educators, children and others try to step away from screen media.

The Early Years Institute of Plainview offers a guide to promoting a balance between the use of technology and old-fashioned ways of play andtime with friends and family.

The week comes with a pledge:

  • Watch no TV or DVDs, play no video or mobile games, and only use the computer if it's required for work;
  • Encourage my friends and family to go screen-free with me;
  • Explore new screen-free activities; and
  • HAVE FUN!
Are you or your kids spending too much time in front of a screen and need to break way? Will Screen-Free Week help?
