Brookhaven Barktoberfest Features Free Adoptions, Costumed Dog Parade

It will include free adoptions with neuter/spay, vaccinations, microchip, license, and FIV/FELV, flea, and fecal testing from Oct. 27-31.

BROOKHAVEN, NY — Ever see a Husky transformed into a Frog Princess, a Bulldog Banana Split, or a Yorkie Pumpkin?

Whether you have or not, plan on checking out Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center’s Howl-o-ween Doggie Costume Parade on Oct. 27.

It will run from 12 to 3 p.m.

Children are encouraged to come in costume, ready for trick-or-treating, and photos with costumed canines.

The dogs are sure to steal the show, according to event organizers.

The Barktoberfest celebration includes free adoptions from Oct. 27 to 31, and include neuter or spay, vaccinations, microchip, and license, as well as FIV/FELV, flea, and fecal testing.

The Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven.

It is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
