Brookhaven Shelter Waives Pet Adoptions In August
The fees normally run $137 for dogs and $125 for cats; adoptions will include free neuter/spay, vaccinations, microchipping, and more.
BROOKHAVEN, NY — The Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is waiving all adoption fees — $137 for dogs and $125 for cats — throughout August, Supervisor Ed Romaine said.
All adoptions will include free neuter or spays, vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm tests, flea, and fecal testing, as well as licenses (for dogs).
Potential adoptees interested in taking a pet home can visit the Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center website at www.brookhavenny.gov/animalshelter to fill out a matchmaker application and call the shelter to schedule an appointment.

The shelter, which is located at 300 Horseblock Rd., Brookhaven, is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment only.
