Democrat Rob Lubin To Run Against U.S. Rep. Andrew Garbarino In 2nd Congressional District
He plans to focus on healthcare, the economy, gun violence, water quality, seniors, to defend a woman's right to choose.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Suffolk Democrats have tapped Rob Lubin to run against U.S. Rep. Andrew Garbarino in the race for the second congressional district this November, according to a news release from his campaign.
Lubin, a Lindenhurst resident, is a small business owner, entrepreneur, and native New Yorker who is the son of an immigrant.
After a successful career in business development and sports marketing as a manager for global soccer clubs A.S. Roma and FC Barcelona, Lubin founded IN-HOUSE, an industry-leading online marketplace for fashion and apparel.

In 2018, he was diagnosed with Keratoconus, which left him blind in one eye, his camp said.
Garbarino, of Sayville, was first elected in 2021 after serving seven years in the state assembly.

His district stretches along the South Shore from Suffolk into Nassau county.
Lubin says he is stepping up to run for Congress to end the division in politics, and plans to focus on healthcare, the economy, gun violence, water quality, seniors, to defend a woman's right to choose, and cut red tape for small businesses, and keep Long Island families safe, according to his camp.
Lubin's camp said that dysfunction within the Republican party in New York’s 2nd District persists with Garbarino currently facing a primary challenge.
He views this as an incredible opportunity to dedicate 100% of his time during the Republican Primary to connecting with voters, something the incumbent has failed to do, according to his camp.
Lubin called it a great honor to accept his nomination.
"The overwhelming support and dedication from my community have fueled reaching this significant milestone," he said. "A profound shift is underway on Long Island, as we strive to restore democracy and usher in a new generation of leadership."
"Our democratic process culminates at the November ballot — a reminder that democracy is not dead, and Americans expect their leaders to serve their communities, not Washington special interests," he said. "It starts here, on Long Island: we are going to set an example of what real change looks like."
Suffolk GOP Chairman Jesse Garcia said Garbarino "demonstrated his effectiveness as a member of the House of Representatives to deliver for not only the second district, but all of Suffolk County in the Long Island region, as a champion for law enforcement is delivered on critical infrastructure projects."
"He fights every day to lower the tax burden upon hardworking families," he said.
