Grammy Award Winner Macy Gray To Celebrate 25th Anniversary With Show On Long Island

LONG ISLAND, NY — Grammy Award-winning songstress Macy Gray will be celebrating her 25th Anniversary Tour with a show at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on Nov. 7.
She burst onto the music scene with her distinctive voice showcased in her debut album, "On How Life Is," in 1999. Her breakthrough single, "I try," peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100, and won Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 43rd Annual Grammy Awards, according to Wikipedia.org.
Her vocals defy easy comparison: gritty, yet playful and tender, yet raw — drawing loose parallels to icons like Tina Turner and Billie Holiday, all the while remaining entirely her own, event organizers say.
