John Cusack To Host 'Say Anything...' Screening On Long Island
It's known for the boombox scene in which Cusack's character holds up a boombox playing Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" for his girlfriend.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Actor John Cusack will host an screening of the classic 80s teen romance film, “Say Anything...," at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts on Aug. 22.
The 1989 film which was written and directed by Cameron Crowe, follows the romance between Lloyd Dobler (Cusack), an average student, and Diane Court (Ione Skye), the class valedictorian, immediately after graduation from high school.
It's best known for its iconic boombox scene in which Dobler stands outside of Court's house holding a cassette player over his head while the Peter Gabriel song, "In Your Eyes," plays.

Cusack was most recently seen in the Amazon’s SciFi series, “Utopia,” starring as Dr. Kevin Christie. He first gained the attention of audiences by starring in a number of classic 80s teen flicks like “The Sure Thing,” “Sixteen Candles,” and "Better Off Dead," before moving on to more serious films like
The Grifters,” “Eight Men Out,” “Being John Malkovich,” “High Fidelity," and “Grosse Pointe Blank.”
He can also be seen in the action-adventure film, "2012," and "The Raven."

The screening will be followed by a Q & A with Cusack.
A VIP package is also available, which includes priority seating and a meet and greet with the actor.
Tickets run $50 to $100, including fees.
They go on sale on Friday.
