PATCHOGUE, NY — Long Island's first ever Christmas boat parade, the Patchogue River Christmas Boat Parade, is set to launch on Nov. 24.

This year the parade is themed "A Rockstar Christmas" and organizers plan to match holiday songs from the "greatest rock and roll bands in history," organizers said.

While parade-goers watch, WUSB 90.1 FM, will be broadcasting Christmas music from 5 to 7 p.m. Parade-goers are asked to pre-program their phones to 90.1 FM so that they don’t miss a minute. Favorite Rock and roll Christmas songs can be emailed to prcbpa@gmail.com.

On Nov. 23, there will be a People’s Choice Award Election at Harbor Crab and Baja Boathouse, where visitors can view and vote on their favorite boat. The viewing is from 5 to 9 p.m., and a water taxi will be available to move between marinas.

Organizers described it as an "excellent, free, family-orientated night out."
