In a post to Instagram, she shared a photo of her fellow nominees, and said that when she was young she was always identified as the daughter of Bergman and Rossellini.

"As I’ve gotten older, this doesn’t happen as frequently and I miss it especially today," she said. "I wish my parents were alive to celebrate with me this great honor."

She also recognized Lynch, who died recently, saying with the joy in her mind, she couldn’t "help lingering in the beyond to David Lynch."

"Our collaboration was key to my understanding of the art of acting," she said. "It is my past, all that I have in me, that I brought to my interpretation of sister Agnes in the film, “ Conclave,” working under the clear and sharp direction of Edward Berger, his incredible cast and crew, especially the incomparable Ralph Fiennes."

"Thanks to the Academy," she said. "I am very touched."

Bergman's fellow nominees include Monica Barbaro for "A Complete Unknown," Zoe Saldana for "Emilia Perez," Ariana Grande for "Wicked," and Felicity Jones for "The Brutalist."
