MEDFORD, NY — McDonald’s is bringing back the “Thank You Meal” program — launched last year to honor essential healthcare workers at the height of the pandemic — this time to honor educators who have also stepped up in a challenging time.

From Monday to Friday, McDonald’s will offer a free breakfast “Thank You Meal” to educators around the U.S. Educators only need to go to their local participating McDonald’s during breakfast hours and present a valid ID from their employer.

The "Thank You Meals" will be served in a classic Happy Meal box with an entrée breakfast sandwich, hash browns, and a beverage, according to a news release. Sandwich choices include an Egg McMuffin, a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit, or a sausage biscuit. Beverage options also include all-time McDonald's fan faves like a medium McCafé, as well as hot or iced coffee, and medium soft drinks.

President of McDonald's USA Joe Erlinger said that together with franchise owner/operators the organization is proud “to serve the people who make communities a better place, and this is an important time to say thank you to some of our everyday heroes.

"We were honored to give away 12 million free 'Thank You Meals' to first responders and healthcare workers last year and now, with educators going above and beyond, we're excited to recognize them in a way only McDonald's can," he added.

In a special ceremony, Jonah Kaufman, the owner and operator of McDonald’s in Medford, will also laud several teachers from Eagle Elementary School in Medford “for their positive impact on the community as part of ‘Thank You Meals for Educators,’” according to a news release.

The McDonald’s in Medford is also partnering with the school’s Parent-Teacher Association to host a fundraiser on Monday “to support future educational events for local students and their families,” the news release stated.

McDonald's is also inviting everyone to honor a special educator in their life as part of the promotion.

Members of the community can share how a favorite teacher impacted their life or made a difference in their community by using #ThankYouMeal on Twitter, TikTok, or Instagram through Friday.

"From spotlighting the most heartfelt thank yous on our social channels, to local owner/operators surprising teachers with a breakfast delivery to their school, we’ll celebrate select educators across the country in big and small ways," McDonald's officials stated in a news release.
