Montauk Hwy In Mastic/Shirley To Close Sunday For Christmas Parade: Police
Parking will be prohibited and commercial parking lots will be blocked off. See how you will be affected and for how long.
MASTIC, NY — If you live in or near the Mastic-Shirley area and will be out and about on the roadway on Sunday afternoon, you might have to re-think your plans.
Montauk Highway will be closed between William Floyd Parkway and Barnes Road from about 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the Chamber of Commerce of the Mastics and Shirley Christmas Parade, Suffolk police said.
Herkimer Street will also be closed between Montauk Highway and Mastic Road, as well as Mastic Road from Herkimer Street to Patchogue Avenue. Parking will also be prohibited along the parade route.

All traffic will be detoured to an alternate route and entrances in and out of commercial and residential parking lots along the parade route will be closed along the parade route.
Both uniformed and plainclothes officers will be assigned to the event to maintain crowd and traffic control, according to police.
