LONG ISLAND, NY — Voters in New York's 2nd Congressional District will see an incumbent challenged as they head to the polls on Nov. 5.

The candidates:

  • Andrew Garbarino (Republican, Conservative)
  • Rob Lubin (Democrat)

Incumbent Andrew Garbarino, of Bayport, was first elected in 2020. He was reelected in 2022 with 60 percent of the vote, according to Ballotpedia.

He did not respond to Patch's questionnaire.

Lubin, a political newcomer, previously worked as a sponsorship opportunities developer for F.C. Barcelona. He is now a small business owner from Lindenhurst.

The 2nd Congressional District stretches from southwestern Nassau to include a western portion of Brookhaven Town.
