Incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Andrew Garbarino will be challenged by Democrat Rob Lubin in the 2nd Congressional District.
LONG ISLAND, NY — Voters in New York's 2nd Congressional District will see an incumbent challenged as they head to the polls on Nov. 5.
The candidates:
- Andrew Garbarino (Republican, Conservative)
- Rob Lubin (Democrat)
Incumbent Andrew Garbarino, of Bayport, was first elected in 2020. He was reelected in 2022 with 60 percent of the vote, according to Ballotpedia.

Lubin, a political newcomer, previously worked as a sponsorship opportunities developer for F.C. Barcelona. He is now a small business owner from Lindenhurst.

The 2nd Congressional District stretches from southwestern Nassau to include a western portion of Brookhaven Town.
