Jarett Gandolfo Wins 7th AD: BOE
Republican Assemb. Jarett Gandolfo appears to lead Democrat Garrett J. Petersen, according to unofficial results from the state's BOE.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Incumbent Assemb. Jarett Gandolfo appears to lead the 7th Assembly District race, according to unofficial results from the state Board of Elections.
Gandolfo garnered 58.82% with 41, 926 votes, to his Democratic challenger, Garrett Petersen, who garnered 33.92% with 23, 926 votes.
In a Facebook post, Gandolfo thanked his constituency for sending him back to the Assembly "to continue fighting."

"Long Islanders have once again sent a strong message — Albany is not working for us," he said. "We want a safer, more affordable future and common sense in government."

Gandolfo, of Sayville, was first elected to the assembly in 2020 with a 60 percent lead, according to Ballotpedia.
Petersen of East Islip, is a political newcomer who is an Office for People with Developmental Disabilities clinician.
Patch has reached out to Petersen for comment.
Communities in the 7th Assembly District include Bay Shore, Brightwaters, Islip, East Islip, Islip Terrace, Great River, Oakdale, Bohemia, West Sayville, Sayville, Bayport, Blue Point, Patchogue, and East Patchogue.
