- A GoFundMe page has been created to help Patchogue nonprofit, Angels of Long Island, after Maria Guiterrez-Monterrey, took $1,600 in cash from the founder's office, Debbie Loesch. Police arrested and charged Monterrey after surveillance video showed her getting into the office several times on Monday but, according to reports, the money is still missing. (News12)
- For those who want to "laugh it out," Patchogue Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center is hosting a comedy night on Thursday, Oct. 6, featuring Greg Rahner, Rosanne Sorrentino, Fat Jay and Harry Freedman at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 per person at www.plazamac.org. Drinks will be on the server for purchase. (Patch)
- Patchogue-Medford Public Library is hosting a fun series of events for cardholders who are aged 21 and over. The "Booktoberfest" is set for Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Blue Point Brewery for those who want to enjoy books and beers. Keenan from Bluepoint Brewery and Maureen from Seatuck Environmental Association will lead the event starting at 7 p.m. (PMPL)
- Nearby News: A video of catalytic converter thieves has been released by police. Two suspects stole the catalytic from a car parked on a residence's driveway on Walnut Avenue in Ronkonkoma. This type of crime keeps rising on Long Island. Police are asking for the public's help to identify the pair. (News12)
