Pedestrian Seriously Injured, Struck By Car In Patchogue: Police

The man was crossing the street when he was struck by a car, police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A man is seriously injured after he was struck by a car while crossing the street in Patchogue on Wednesday, Suffolk County Police said.

The 23-year-old Medford man was crossing Medford Avenue, just south of East Roe Boulevard, at about 12 a.m., when he was struck by a southbound 2012 Nissan Altima.

He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, police said.

The driver of the Nissan was not injured, police said.

The Nissan was also impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
