Pedestrian Struck On Medford Avenue In Patchogue: Police

It happened at around 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, Suffolk police say.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A woman was struck and injured by a vehicle while crossing Medford Avenue in Patchogue on Saturday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

A 28-year-old man from Ronkonkoma was driving a 2014 Chrysler and made a left turn from East Main Street while traveling eastbound, onto the northbound side of Medford Avenue at around 4:45 p.m., when the vehicle struck a 44-year-old woman, according to police.

The woman, who is from Long Beach, was taken to NYU Langone — Suffolk in East Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver was ticketed for failing to yield right of way to a pedestrian, according to police.
