Police Searching For Driver In Hit-And-Run Crash That Left 2 Teens Injured

NORTH BELLPORT, NY— Police are searching for the vehicle that left the scene of a hit-and-run crash in North Bellport that left two teens injured Friday, officials said.
Major case unit detectives believe the vehicle that fled the scene is a midsized white Jeep with damage to the front left corner, including the headlight, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place on Station Road at Patchogue Avenue at 9:38 p.m.

The teens were walking eastbound across Station Road at the intersection of Patchogue Avenue, when they were struck by a white SUV driving southbound; the driver then fled south toward Montauk Highway, police said.
One pedestrian, 15, of East Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries; another, 14, of Bellport, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk County for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
