3-Alarm Main Street Port Chester Fire Investigated As 'Suspicious'
The three-alarm fire closed several roads in the area and caused delays and cancellations on the nearby Metro-North New Haven Line.

PORT CHESTER, NY — There are indications that Monday's massive downtown blaze in Port Chester was "suspicious," officials said.
The Port Chester Police Department, along with the Port Chester Fire Department and the Westchester County Cause and Origin team, are investigating the cause of the blaze that swept through vacant buildings on South Main Street.
The fire is deemed suspicious at this time, the Port Chester Police Department said in a statement early Monday. More investigation will follow.

The three-alarm fire on Main Street in downtown Port Chester closed several roads and caused delays and cancellations on the nearby Metro-North New Haven Line.
The fire broke out in an abandoned building on Main Street in Port Chester on Monday morning, according to Village Manager Stuart Rabin.

The Port Chester Fire Department continued to fight the fire throughout the night, and South Main Street remained closed from Westchester to Boston Post Road as of Tuesday morning.
"As most of you know, we had a multiple alarm fire on South Main Street today, we were assisted by multiple different departments and we have a lot of people to thank for coming to our aid, our members are still operating and will be operating throughout the night at the scene," Port Chester fire officials said in a statement released on social media late last night. "We can’t begin to thank the community for their support today, sending food, drinks, and many other things to the scene for the firefighters operating."
