Man Held at NYC's Rikers Island Charged with Stealing Woman's Ring in Port Chester
Brooklyn man was wanted by Port Chester Police for incident on Westchester Avenue in January.
A Brooklyn man wanted on a robbery charge in Port Cheser in connection with an incident on Westchester Avenue in January has been found in a New York City jail, according to Port Chester Police.
Raymond Silva, 36, of 427 Christopher Ave., Brooklyn, was brought to Port Chester on Thursday to be arraigned on a third-degree robbery charge after he was located at Rikers Island. Police said he was being held in the city jail on a parole violation charge and a warrant lodged against him by Port Chester was discovered by city corrections officials while he was at Rikers.
Port Chester police said Silva is accused of taking a ring worth more than $2,000 from a woman at about 2 p.m. on Jan. 23. Police said Silva is accused of arguing with the woman at a Port Chester restaurant and then taking the ring from her hand while they were on Westchester Avenue.

The woman, police said, tried to get the ring back from Silva. She told police that Silva took off with the ring.
Silva was arraigned in Port Chester Village Court and then returned to Rikers Island. He is expected to face prosecution in Port Chester after charges he faces in New York City are resolved.
