Port Chester 50-Year-Old Dies In Harley Vs. Mercedes Crash In Somers
Traffic investigators for the New York State Police say the car turned into the path of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

SOMERS, NY — State police say they are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle in the town of Somers.
On Sunday, just after 2:30 p.m., state police were called to the intersection of Stoneleigh Avenue and Route 202 in the town of Somers for a report of a car collision involving a motorcycle.
Investigators believe that a Mercedes-Benz, operated by a 60-year-old Kent Lakes woman, was traveling northeast on Route 202 and attempted to turn left onto Stoneleigh Avenue.

Traffic investigators for the New York State Police say the car turned into the path of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, operated by James T. Herring, Jr., 50, of Port Chester. The motorcycle was traveling southwest on Route 202. The crash caused Herring to strike the passenger side of the Mercedes.
Herring was rushed to Westchester Medical Center where he died.

State police officials said the investigation into the crash remains is ongoing.
