The two-vehicle collision occurred in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich.

GREENWICH, CT - A 45-year-old driver is facing a driving while intoxicated charge following a two-vehicle crash on Ritch Avenue in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich.

It was shortly after 6 p.m. on Feb. 23 when the crash occurred on Ritch Avenue at Byram Shore Road. Officers found that one driver had "red, glassy eyes and the odor" of alcoholic beverages on his breath and person, according to a Greenwich Police report.

The driver, identified as Tomas J. Diaz, of King Street, Port Chester, NY, also failed field sobriety tests, acceding to the report. In addition to the DWI charge, Diaz was ticketed for failure to carry insurance card and failure to drive in proper lane.

The police report did not indicate whether anyone was injured in the collision.

Diaz was released after posting a $250 bond and scheduled to appear March 9 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
