Port Chester High School Senior Honored As '2024 Commended Student'
The Commended Student recognition is given each year to outstanding students who achieve exceptional scores on the PSAT.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A Port Chester senior has secured his place among the best of the best academically with a feat that earned him national recognition.
The Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District announced that senior Orhan Eski has been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as a Commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Eski, who received a Letter of Commendation, is among 34,000 students across the county to be recognized for exceptional academic promise.

The Commended Student recognition is an honor given every year to outstanding students who achieve exceptional scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Although Commended Students will not continue in the 2024 competition for scholarship awards, they placed among the top 50,000 students who took the test in 2022.
