PORT CHESTER, NY — The polls have closed and the votes are counted — the unofficial results of the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District election are in.

The 2023 budget and school board vote included two seats on the Port Chester-Rye Union Free School District Board of Education.

The proposed spending plan of $142,895,880 is 13.42 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to rise 2.9 percent, which is below the state's tax cap.

The budget was approved by voters 1161 to 421.

Two board seats were up for election. Candidates running included: Thomas Corbia, Roberto Dominguez, George Ford, and Wiliam Villanova. Dominguez and Ford won those seats.

Dominguez received a total of 892 votes. Ford received 811 votes.

Villanova received 783 votes and Corbia 379.
