PORT CHESTER, NY — A wrong turn ended up being bad news for morning commuters in Westchester County.

At around 2 a.m., a tractor trailer struck a train overpass in Port Chester, causing the semi to get lodged beneath it.

During the morning rush hour, the Village of Port Chester notified residents that Lower King Street, between Summerfield Park and Adee Street, would be closed throughout the morning while the Port Chester Police Department and the MTA Police Department investigated the scene.

The Port Chester Fire Department said that members arrived on the scene to find a fully loaded tractor trailer with motor oil, that was unstable. The Purchase Fire Department assisted Port Chester crews with stabilizing the tractor trailer and helping in having it towed away.
