Truck Driver Killed When Semi Flipped From Exit Onto I-287
An occupant of a van traveling on I-287 was taken to the hospital after the truck rolled onto the busy Cross Westchester Expressway.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — A fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer closed all of the westbound lanes of the Cross Westchester Expressway near Port Chester for hours throughout most of the morning and early afternoon.
State Police are investigating the crash that happened on Wednesday, shortly before 10:30 a.m., on I-287 in Harrison.
Troopers said a preliminary investigation found that the tractor-trailer was on the Exit 9A ramp from I-287 to I-684 north when the driver lost control and flipped over the guardrail and onto the I-287 westbound lanes. The driver of the tractor-trailer died, and an occupant of a van traveling on I-287 was taken to the hospital.
