2 Manhasset Teachers Earn National Accreditation

National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education.

MANHASSET, NY — A pair of teachers from Shelter Rock Elementary School have have something to add to their resume.

Allyson Weiss Begley, a third grade teacher, and Ashley Arcuri-Iaquinto, an ENL teacher, were among only 47 teachers recognized with the National Board Certification.

Begley and Arcuri-Iaquinto earned the accreditation from New York State United Teachers.

National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education. To become board certified, candidates must demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and practice in their individual certificate. Each teacher must complete four components: three portfolio entries and a computer-based assessment.
