New York Tech Launches Two Major Initiatives

University opens new biomedical research center and also launches new initiative to empower future entrepreneurs

In a move to enhance its status as one of the region's most recognized institutions for research and entrepreneurship, New York Institute of Technology has announced two innovation-focused initiatives:

  • The opening of the Biomedical Research, Innovation, and Imaging Center (BRIIC), a 20,000-square-foot facility with advanced imaging equipment, including high-power microscopes and an MRI suite. The BRIIC provides researchers with new opportunities to advance discoveries and potential treatments for pressing health conditions, while also aiming to expand the institution's research footprint and further its strategy to become a Carnegie-classified Research 2 university.   • The launch of the university's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Academy, together with the creation of a $5 million venture fund. Designed to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs across the university's New York City and Long Island campuses, the academy will offer hands-on resources, expert mentorship, and the infrastructure needed to launch startups, develop innovative technologies, and bring new products to market.
