33-Year-Old Lefferts Gardens Man Dies 6 Days After Ditmas Park Shooting: NYPD
Yearidin Gordon died on Sep. 13, police said. His shooter remains at large.

LEFFERTS GARDENS, BROOKLYN — A 33-year-old Lefferts Gardens man has died six days after being shot in Ditmas Park, the NYPD said.
Police said Yearidin Gordon was shot in the head at about 7:40 p.m. on Sep. 7 in front of 87 Woodruff Ave. He was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he died on Sep. 13.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday, police said, and the investigation was ongoing.

Citing unnamed sources, the New York Daily News reported that Gordon was a member of the Crips, and that the shooting was believed to be gang related.

Yearidin was shot in the NYPD's 70th Precinct, which patrols Ditmas Park and Flatbush. Through Sep. 11, major crimes in the 70th were collectively down about 9 percent compared to the same period last year, according to official police statistics.
A total of three shootings in the 70th with three victims had been recorded by police through Sep. 11, compared with two shootings with three victims during the same period in 2015.
