5 Things: Dr. Who, Nerd Cabaret and Baby Story Time

Plus alt country/folk at Branded and poetry on the platform at the New York Transit Museum.

 

1. Embrace your inner nerd. Sunday is nerd night at The Way Station with a screening at 5 p.m. of DOCTOR WHO: The Rings of Akhaten + Nerd Cabaret at 8. 683 Washington Ave. bet. St. Marks and Prospect. Free. 

2. Get your groove on. If you're looking for something else, how about kicking back to a night of singer-songwriters with the URBAN ACHIEVERS music series. Tonight Bill Bartholomew and Gabriela Rassi perform their unique blend of alt country and folk beginning at 8. They're followed at 9 by Justin Vahala.  Branded Saloon, 603 Vanderbilt Ave. at Bergen, 7 p.m. Free.

4. Get read to. It's baby story time at Greenlight Bookstore at 686 Fulton St. this Sunday at 11 a.m. Children's performers Miss Nina, Jon Samson, and Vered entertain babies and toddlers under 3 years old with stories, songs and interactive play. Free. 

5. Get poetic. In honor of National Poetry Month, the New York Transit Museum has invited children 6 years and older to celebrate the event by drawing pictures. 1:30 p.m., $7 ($5 for children ages 2-17 and seniors).
