Update: 18 Flavors of Gelato Coming to Crown Heights Starting Oct. 13
Espresso, cappuccino, panini sandwiches and Italian groceries are also available at the new Albero on Classon Avenue.

Update: On Wednesday, Patch was able to catch up with Albero co-owner Monia Solighetto, who provided new details about the Crown Heights business.
The new Albero, located on Bergen Street (though its address remains 667 Classon Ave.) will open Oct. 13 with many of the same offerings from Albero's Park Slope location.
In the mornings, you can enjoy an espresso or cappuccino, along with croissants and other baked goods.

Salads are on the menu, including the Margherita (kale, goat cheese, dried cranberries and raw almonds) and Primula (spinach, maple smoked gouda, fresh fruit and raw almonds).
A variety of panini sandwiches are available as well, with Solighetto recommending the Chioma (smoked prosciutto, smoked gouda and small artichokes), as well as organic quinoa and lentil soups.

And of course, in addition to its cakes, Albero will have 18 flavors of gelato, including several vegan options.
The store also sells Italian groceries, including a variety of pastas, sauces and olive oils.
Solighetto said she and her fellow owners have established personal relationships with all of their distributors, with organic, farm-fresh food coming from upstate New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Vermont. And she said Albero's coffee beans come from a producer that sources its product to small growers and pays fair prices.
Albero's initial hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. seven days per week, but it may close earlier in the winter. Solighetto also said the cafe could open earlier if there's a community demand for more morning service.

Patch's original story on Albero (with a small adjustment to the name of the business) continues below:
CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Albero, the latest expansion of the Park Slope eatery, is opening on Classon Avenue this Thursday.
The café, gelateria and restaurant, located on Bergen Street around the corner from 667 Classon Ave., will open on Oct. 13 at 9 a.m.
Homemade posters on the store's windows trace the history of the family business to Milan in 1985, while Albero's website emphasizes the founders' commitment to "slow food" that is healthy and produced in an environmentally-friendly way.

Patch has reached out to Albero's owners to learn more about the culinary sweep of the new Classon Avenue location, but if it's anything like the Park Slope location, it will be a space filled with decadent desserts and coffees.
Albero's standard menu also offers a variety of pastries, frittatas, panini sandwiches and cheese dishes.

Albero's is taking over its new Crown Heights location from Elsie's Parlor, the shuterred ice cream and coffee shop, as reported by DNAinfo.
We'll update this post when we learn more about what the new Albero's has in store.
Coming soon! Because we are cappuccino lovers! #albero #asgoodasnature #newopening #workinprogress
